Journal 56: Big Apple

To succeed in the 21st century world, you need to have connections. The world is becoming much more global and the ones with power are the ones well connected. New York is the center of the world. Almost all things happen there, business centers, Big companies, and all sorts of global things you can imagine resides in New York.
When a person have good connections, it also mean that the opportunities that one is available also increases. Say being a artist. By being global, you can easily gain fame through numerous routes, being exposed to the public, newspapers, or even major head companies that have great interests in your work. These are all something that could be achieved easily with a global connection. If one have great skill but without connections, it will take them years to be viewed worldwide, then centuries to be well known and famous, maybe even after they have died. Which is why i want to go to New York too. With more connections, means be global, then fame comes in your way.

Journal 55: Public Interest

Honestly, i don't really get the quotation. It might be that im in a dizzy state right now when im writing this journal or simply because i really don't understand. If what i perceive is right, it means that the individual mind in colleges are getting really, "unglobal" in their interest for the world. That the society and the students that are graduating lately bases their interest off benefits rather than morale.
I'm really not sure of this quotation means, but i do find this world base more on benefits more and more instead of the basic human instinct of good. People are losing more and more of their good  morale and retreats into the protection of self benefits. the world is going in a cynical state and ones with basic human goodness are fading. Some of the people that still have these qualities are probably children. The world needs more caring and good nature human beings, if one always look into the beneficial side, then U.S will truly plunge into a dark future. The rich gets richer, the poor gets poorer.

Journal 54: Literature and Death

You can't arrest an idea, you can't destroy and idea, nor can you stop and idea. Writing literature is a way of expressing one's opinion, just as what art does. Art, music, or literature are all a form of expression. These are representation of an idea portrayed onto a physical object. It doesn't matter if the thing survived history or was it preserved well. All that matters in the end is that the idea lives on, people had seen it before and the person that created the representation remebers the idea. Once the idea is created, nothing, can stop it from spreading. Writing something is a way of recording yourself in the vast tsunami called earthquake. A person can be washed away easily, what your achievements are doesn't matter. If the future don't know about it, you will soon be forgotten. When you have written something down, people will read the thing no matter what it is. Its a recording, a piece of you that was saved down. Therefore, this is the reason why i like to read actual books. When you type something out, it loses the spiritual value of a person devoting himself to record something down individually with a character, or art. Written words are a form of art work, and it is the process of writing and recording yourself where a person could feel himself right there, at the moment, the creating his own history.

Journal 53: Reasoning and Insight

agree, totally agree. You can rigorously pursue  something, however if you never receive an insight, you will never understand. What is insight? its the ability to penetrate a situation, a clear mind, or a understanding of some thing. To me, having insight is comparable to be having a sudden realization or epiphany. Your sudden realization of the situation can alter a normal view of something completely.
This is the same for artistic endeavors instead of in math or science. When a artist is able to insight his topic or specific interest in his idea, a remarkable artwork could flow through. If an artist have lots of wonderful idea, but unable to insight these ideas artistically, then they may never actually create the work. For example Picasso's Guernica. The creation of Guernica was based on the idea of to stop war. Sure, Picasso could have just painted a gorgeous and realistic painting of the horrors of war. However, through his sudden insight of his genius and ideas, a distorted and symbolic image appears. The color, the shapes, the overlapping of figures all gave way to this ingenius artwork. With insight, Picasso was able to paint this painting in a way where people are forced to think.

Journal 52: Life of Service

I think faith could be a great part of good learning in life. When one have faith in their hearts, they could focus their mind a whole lot on a specific goal. Having faith in their God could probably also help meeting a goal or stay on track. When one gets distracted and feel tired, through talking or praying, they could feel blessed. 

Servicce and faith offers a spiritual guidance for a person's heart. 

The teachings of you religion definitely will somehow make one's ethic or moral better in some way. Well, actually it depends on the religion that you are participating in. But anyway, people would have a better understanding in life or the proper morale when one is doing a task. They will follow a specific set of rules or discipline to accomplish their goals accordingly. 

Religion and life of service probably sharpen a person's mind as well since it involves alot of meditation in almost all the religion ranging from Buddhist, Christian (which is praying adn repent), Muslim, and whatever religion there is in the world out there. 

Journal 51: The Best Laid Plans

There haven't been a major crisis or challenge in my life that i have faced yet, or i suppose i simply forgot about it. If i face a challenge, i usually push myself to the very limit to accomplish the challenge. Or i simply find a unexpected hole to the challenge and overcome it. Why would i say that? because of my the only challenges i remembered was the start of 2012 where everything was falling apart.
I was screamed by the head of the school everyday. My SAT score is shit. My social life was crumbling down and there was no female for me to hit on (this is a big thing for me). My family was disappointed in me and i was pushed to madness. Nothing went according to plan and i basically had everything in ruins.
I didn't try to fix each thing one by one, i found a hole where i rested my mind. That was the time where i started to make friends outside of school and found myself a artist community. After that was established and seeing all the approved voices from people across the continent, i had my confidence once again. Everything went back on track where my friends came and apologized and my SAT was rising back up after my confidence was regained.

Journal 50: My World

I come from a quite asian world that focuses on academic. My mom and dad might not be so pushy about my grades as some other would, they are still pretty aggressive. My family raise me to be independent. requiring me to achieve every task by myself without the help of anyone. Through time, this shaped my current personality of self independence and rebellious. I move constantly from place to place therefore i adapted the american view and the asian society. I mixed in together and adopted my culture identity as asian but my world view americanized. Or should i say, old americans where nowadays the americans are fat and stupid such as their government. Fucking stupid senate banning the internet and call themself democracy. What the FUCK? Then, attacking the Islamic countries and brainwashing the military with ideas that muslims are bad. Again? the fucking hell? therefore i've decided to adopt my identity as asain. Americans are moving downhill fast into a corrupted country. I put myself in a artistic community that I love. Infact, i created my own community where i bought people from across the globe altoghter.
